This was the first bank that opened in Aguascalientes, which began operations in the year 1897 since the Board of Directors of the bank based in Zacatecas decided to install an office to take advantage of the fact that the industrial movement and the agricultural and commercial lines showed greater increase every day, largely due to the incursion of the railway, which came to stimulate the commercial, social and industrial development of the entity.
Initially, the bank carried out its activities using an old property located on the first street of Tacuba (today 5 de Mayo) that was rented by Mrs. Victoria Alba, widow of López. By 1906, the new branch was built on Calle Reloj, (current Andador Juárez), near the Plaza de Armas, under the direction of Don Refugio Reyes Rivas.
Over time, this building has adapted to different styles, always preserving its original façade, which is framed under a neoclassical style trend, where we can see that the upper floor is more elaborate in its decoration than the ground floor, which is more "simple".
Currently the façade of the building is still intact, showing the stylistic beauty of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. On the ground floor you will find a popular pharmacy from a national chain.
